Community Park Launch Overview
Challenge: Moon Lake Park was developed in response to community demand for additional neighborhood recreation space and inclusive play opportunities. The challenge was to build public awareness, engage residents and community stakeholders, communicate the value of a significant public investment, and support a successful launch that reflected the impact of the district's newest community asset. Communications efforts also highlighted the partnerships that made the project possible, including funding support secured through Illinois State Representative Fred Crespo and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
My Role: As Communications & Marketing Superintendent, I developed event collateral, coordinated digital and public-facing communications, supported stakeholder outreach, documented the event through photography, and created visual assets used to promote the park before, during, and after the launch.
