Website Redesign Overview

Challenge: HEParks operated a large multi-program website serving residents, program participants, facility users, and community stakeholders. The site required modernization, improved navigation and search, stronger accessibility, smoother integration with WebTrac registration, and better long-term content governance.

My Role: I led the project from planning and procurement through implementation, serving as the primary internal project lead responsible for stakeholder coordination, content strategy, governance planning, vendor management, and website content redevelopment.

Information Architecture & Governance

The existing site contained dozens of program, facility, and service sections that developed over many years. A major component of the project involved evaluating content structure, simplifying navigation, and creating a more intuitive user experience for residents while supporting long-term content governance across departments.

Public Procurement & Vendor Management

Developed and managed a public procurement process for a district-wide website redesign initiative focused on usability, accessibility, systems integration, and long-term digital governance. Responsibilities included requirements gathering, RFP development, vendor communication, proposal evaluation, and stakeholder coordination throughout the vendor selection process.

Content & Visual Redevelopment

Beyond project coordination responsibilities, the redesign required extensive content redevelopment. Existing pages were reviewed, rewritten, reorganized, and aligned to improve clarity, consistency, usability, and public access to information across facilities, programs, parks, services, and district resources.
